Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has no worries over the development of forward Theo Walcott, despite a spate of injuries hampering the youngster's first-team apperances this season.
The
speedy attacker has suffered injuries to his back, knee, hamstring and
most recently his rib this season but returned to action as a
second-half substitute in the 4-2 home win over Bolton earlier this
month.
And with the World Cup around the corner, many suspect Walcott to be in Fabio Capello's England plans.
The
plague of injuries has limited Walcott's first-team opportunities this
season, in a year the Gunners' faithful expected to see the former
Southampton man start to stamp his authority on the Arsenal squad.
But Wenger told the club's website he isn't concerned.
"I am not worried about Walcott," he said. "What you cannot expect from Walcott at the moment is what he cannot give you.
"He needs some time to play and come back to full fitness. He has only played a few games this season.
"If he gets injury free now, he will have a good end of season. But at the moment he is not completely himself."
