Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that midfielders Abou Diaby and Andrey Arshavin will both be in the Gunners' squad when they welcome trans-London rivals Fulham to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Frenchman had suffered a calf injury playing against Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and Wenger announced yesterday that he would defnitely miss the game with the Cottagers. However, it would appear he has made a surprisingly swift recovery and will be included in the weekend squad.
He will be joined by Russian superstar Andrey Arshavin, who was ineligible for the game with Roma but is set to be involved as the team return to Premier League action.
"Diaby is available, he recovered surprisingly well," Wenger told reporters at his Friday press conference. "It seems I took him off at the right moment [against Roma].
"There are a few small injuries but everybody who played on Tuesday is available. Arshavin joins in so it’s the same squad as Tuesday but Arshavin comes in for Fran Merida."
There were no further surprises on the injury front though, with all of Arsenal's currently lengthy list of casualties set to miss the weekend's action, though some are expected to return soon.
"It looks like Eduardo,[Theo]Walcott and [Emmanuel] Adebayor will be coming in the next two weeks," Wenger added.
"It's a real bonus, the first one will be Walcott."
The Gunners face Fulham in north London on Staurday afternoon, kick-off 15:00 GMT.
