Lecce midfielder Fabio Caserta has expressed his disappointment at not being offered another opportunity at Palermo, as he was sold after his first year at the club.

The 30-year-old does not mind having joined the Giallorossi, but he feels that he was not given a proper chance to prove his worth in Sicily.

"I would have never left Palermo, but the club made other choices," declared the 30-year-old to
    Stadionews.it.

"I'm happy to have chosen Lecce, but I would have liked to initially stay at Palermo.

"I don't think that my transfer depended on coach Stefano Colantuono, because the year before he wanted me.

"Therefore, I don't know until what point he was influential in this decision. I think that it was mainly the club's choice."

During his year at Palermo, Caserta played 26 league games and scored one goal.
