Chelsea midfielder Deco has made it clear that he will end his international career after the 2010 World Cup. The 32-year-old is ready to make way for a new generation.
"I
will end my international career after the 2010 World Cup. I'm getting
older and playing international matches is exhausting me. Therefore,
I've decided to make way for younger players," said Deco to Radio Globo.
The
creative midfielder was born and raised in Brazil, but gained
Portuguese citizenship in 2002 after playing for six years in the
Portuguese league with Alverca, Salgueiros and Porto.
Deco has
since become an intergral part of the Portugal set-up. The former
Barcelona star has made over 70 international appearances for Portugal
and played at Euro 2004, Euro 2008 and the 2006 World Cup.

Re: Deco Retires
Congratz Deco for a great career and thanks for everything.
Deco has always been a solid player and a veteran for the Portuguese national team (not that I support them ).
