French daily newspaper, Le Parisien has reported that Real Madrid are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper, Mickael Landreau to take over from Jerzy Dudek as the second choice goalkeeper at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Dudek’s contract with Los Merengues will expire at the end of this season and he is widely tipped to leave the white half of the Spanish capital. The Madrid hierarchy, therefore, are eager to find another experienced and reliable back-up to undisputed number one, Iker Casillas, and it appears that Landreau would fit the bill.
The 29-year-old’s contract with PSG doesn’t expire until 2010, but he only has a €2 million buy-out clause. And the Frenchman himself, capped 11 times for Les Bleus, admitted on Thursday that he has already “received a few very interesting offers from Spain”.
Landreau joined PSG in 2006 after ten seasons with Nantes and in the three seasons with the Parisians, he has firmly established himself as their first choice. Madrid's current number three between the post is 26-year-old, Jordi Codina.
