Velez Sarsfield attacking midfielder Maximiliano Moralez acknowledged that his team can count on a "very competitive squad" and he said that they have what it takes "to fight for the championship."
Moralez, 21, stated that switching to Velez from Racing Club was a "step forward" in his career, because the side from Liniers are "much more organised in every aspect" while Racing are still struggling.
As well as this, Moralez praised the club for their modern training complex in Ituzaingo: "The place where we train is incredible. To have a villa like this, with good fields and everything at your service, is very important. At Racing we didn't have this luck."
The former FC Moscow player has already adapted to his new surroundings, and much is expected of him and his team this season, even if they aren't considered one of Buenos Aires' "big five" clubs.
Velez are one of the favourites to obtain the Clausura Championship this season, and Moralez believes the reason for this is because the club "assembled a very competitive team, who are capable of winning things".
On Saturday Velez will be looking for the three points at home to Godoy Cruz of Mendoza. Velez currently find themselves in tenth position, with five points from their first three matches.
