[size=9]Earlier today it was revealed that the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) was set to review the drug bans imposed on Napoli’s Daniele Mannini and Brescia’s Davide Possanzini, something that made the agent of the former in particular extremely pleased.
“Now that we are at this stage, we will ask to reopen the case, and thus reduce the suspension of the sentence,” said an excited Davide Lippi in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss.
“We must thank the Federation, the League and UEFA, as they have all been on our side against this questionable decision.
“We are very optimistic at this point in time, but for now we will await on official confirmations, which shouldn’t be too far away,” he added.
“It is certainly not an easy situation to handle, but Daniele and I are being calm despite everything that has happened,” the agent concluded.
Mannini and his former team mate Possanzini were each handed a one-year ban last month for showing up late to a doping test after the Serie B game between Brescia and Chievo Verona last season.
